We're excited to announce an opportunity within our Defence Manufacturing department for the position of Fabrication and Final Ops Team Leader. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, up-and-coming leader ready to progress their career.
About the Role
As a Fabrication and Final Ops Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. You'll lead a team of skilled fabricators, TAs and Painters, driving productivity and quality while fostering a safe and collaborative work environment. This role is not just about supervising; it's about inspiring, mentoring, and leading your team to achieve and surpass set goals.
As the Fabrication and Final Ops Team Leader you can expect your day-to-day tasks to include but not limited to:
- Leading and managing a team, ensuring efficient operation of the Fabrication and Paint & Blast department.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and practices to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Promote a safety culture within the team, ensuring all workers wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe working practices.
- Train and develop team members, including apprentices, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and practices to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Resolve issues and challenges that arise in the manufacturing process.
About You
You will have a passion for leading teams, a knack for problem-solving, and a drive to excel in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
The experience and skillset suited to this role may include:
- Over three years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes and techniques.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
