What We're Looking For

  • Cert III Engineering – Fabrication (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years post-trade experience (preferred).
  • Post-trade boiler making experience requirements are flexible based on demonstrated skills and capability.
  • Strong MIG & TIG welding skills.
  • Experience working to WPS.
  • Plasma gouging experience.
  • High-hardness steel experience (nice to have, not essential).
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and team-focused.
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months with us (longer the better!).

Join our Electrical Manufacturing team as an Electrical Production Clerk.  This role will see you working as part of an experienced and dedicated team, focused on manufacturing electrical harnesses for internal and external customers.  The role is based at our facility in Wynyard, North-Western Tasmania.

About the Role

This is a key support role and will report to the Electrical Operations Manager.

We are looking for a Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor to oversee our Yellow Iron Warehousing operations in South Burnie.

About the Role

Elphinstone Pty Ltd is searching for a Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor to join our growing team. The role has become vacant due to internal movements. As part of the Elphinstone Warehousing team, you will oversee the general operations of the warehouse and its staff. You will assist the team in successfully meeting safety requirements and quality levels and efficiently and effectively receiving and dispatching stock.

As the Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor, you can expect your day-to-day tasks to include but not limited to:

  • Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees
  • Identify and assess potential issues that can affect deliveries.
  • Review the timeliness of scheduled deliveries.
  • Track inventory levels
  • Order new supplies promptly
  • Constantly work to improve processes
  • Make suggestions for productivity improvements
  • Optimize employee workflow

About You

You will have a keen eye for attention to detail and quality. You can develop and maintain strong positive customer relationships (internal & external). You will be able to adapt to changing work priorities and locations whilst remaining calm and organised. About the role

Reporting to the CFO/Business Service Manager and sitting on the Management Team, you'll run Elphinstone's day-to-day finance operations.

The position is based in Burnie, Tasmania.

That means making sure the numbers are timely, accurate and well understood, from the shop floor to the boardroom. You'll lead a capable team (Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, AP, AR and Production Clerks) and be the go-to person for financial advice across the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading and growing the Finance team: setting priorities, building capability and creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Owning the reporting cycle: month-end and year-end close, management accounts within 15 days, and clear, insightful Board reporting
  • Driving budgets and forecasts: leading the annual budget with the CFO/Business Service Manager and senior leaders, tracking performance and digging into the variances that matter
  • Getting under the hood of manufacturing finance: job costing, WIP and KPIs that help managers improve margins and profitability
  • Managing cash, treasury and working capital: cash flow forecasting, banking and FX within approved parameters
  • Leading compliance and audit: tax and SGE statutory reporting (ASIC, GST, FBT, payroll tax, income tax, R&D), the ATO relationship, and the external audit from start to sign-off
  • Improving systems and processes: working with IT and ERP/MRP users to streamline, standardise and automate
  • Partnering the business: commercial analysis, capex evaluation, contract pricing support and practical advice for leaders across every unit

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CA or CPA is highly regarded, but strong experience counts too
  • 5+ years in senior finance, including leading a team, ideally in manufacturing or a similarly complex operation
  • Solid experience in management and statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax, audit and financial control
  • Hands-on knowledge of job costing and WIP
  • Advanced Excel and modelling skills, plus significant ERP experience
  • A record of improving systems, processes and controls
  • Strong commercial sense and the ability to explain the numbers to people who don't speak finance
  • Integrity, curiosity, and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively

About the role

We're seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to join our Production team at Burnie, reporting to the Production Development Workshop Supervisor. You'll assemble, fit and test the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components that go into our diesel-powered mining equipment — working to specification, to schedule, and to a standard our customers rely on in some of the harshest conditions on earth. It's a role where trade skill, precision and problem-solving come together every day, and where no two builds are quite the same.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and bills of materials to assemble and fit components accurately
  • Install and fit engines, transmissions, axles, final drives and other drivetrain components to OEM and Company standards
  • Fit, test and pressure-check hydraulic systems - cylinders, pumps, valves and hoses - for leak-free performance
  • Use precision measuring equipment to check dimensional accuracy, alignment and torque against engineering tolerances
  • Perform functional testing, fault-finding and rectification of assemblies prior to hand-over
  • Pass on your knowledge and experience by mentoring Trade Assistants and Apprentices
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) builds and continuous improvement across the workshop

About you

  • A Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technician, or an equivalent trade qualification
  • Strong mechanical ability, with a knack for troubleshooting and fault diagnosis

We are looking for a Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor to oversee our Yellow Iron Warehousing operations in South Burnie.

About the Role

Elphinstone Pty Ltd is searching for a Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor to join our growing team. The role has become vacant due to internal movements. As part of the Elphinstone Warehousing team, you will oversee the general operations of the warehouse and its staff. You will assist the team in successfully meeting safety requirements and quality levels and efficiently and effectively receiving and dispatching stock.

As the Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor, you can expect your day-to-day tasks to include but not limited to:

  • Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees
  • Identify and assess potential issues that can affect deliveries.
  • Review the timeliness of scheduled deliveries.
  • Track inventory levels
  • Order new supplies promptly
  • Constantly work to improve processes
  • Make suggestions for productivity improvements
  • Optimize employee workflow

About You

You will have a keen eye for attention to detail and quality. You can develop and maintain strong positive customer relationships (internal & external). You will be able to adapt to changing work priorities and locations whilst remaining calm and organised. You will display high motivation and drive and use your initiative to ensure smooth operations. You should also be able to optimise day-to-day activities while minimising the costs.

The experience and skillset suited to this role may include:

  • Proven experience as a Warehousing & Logistics Supervisor or similar role
  • Advanced skills in MS Office
  • Organisational and leadership abilities
  • Well Developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Problem-solving skills
