The 1975 Elphinstone Cat 769B surface dump truck with innovative ejector tray

Dale Elphinstone first began modifying Cat surface mining equipment to suit underground applications on his father’s farm in Burnie Tasmania, in 1975. One such modification included the re-engineering of a Cat 769B surface dump truck to meet underground requirements. Dale (bottom-left) and his team are pictured testing the modified dump truck and the innovative ejector tray at a local quarry. Forty-five years later, Elphinstone continues to design and manufacture safe, reliable and innovative surface and underground mining equipment, commissioned and delivered to loyal and valued customers around the world.

Designed for safety and comfort, the enclosed, three-seater, climate-controlled air-conditioned cabin means everyone will want to operate an Elphinstone WR810. Spacious layout, adjustable steering column, large touch screen display and excellent 360-degree visibility make operating the WR810 safe and reliable. Ergonomic fingertip control and keypad fitted to the right-hand armrest of the operator’s seat means the operator has full control of the braking performance of the machine.

Now, just 45 years later, Elphinstone continues to design and manufacture safe, reliable and innovative surface haulage solutions and underground mining support equipment, commissioned and delivered to loyal and valued customers around the world.

Haulmax 3900 Service Module logs over 40,000 hours since 2012

The versatile Haulmax 3900 truck from Elphinstone fitted with a Support Vehicles Australia (SVA) fuel and lube service module, sold and serviced by WesTrac to a valued customer in the Pilbara, Western Australia. A total of 17 Haulmax trucks have been delivered to the same customer since 2012, the oldest with more than 40,000 hours of strong reliable service. SVA worked with Elphinstone to integrate the 67,000L capacity module and ensure optimum load distribution on the Haulmax chassis.

WR810 Fuel & Lube delivered to South America ready for training

An Elphinstone WR810 Fuel & Lube has been delivered to a valued customer in South America for commissioning and training by our Product Support Technicians. The WR810 Fuel & Lube truck provides a solution for an in-situ top-up of fuel and lubricants for underground mobile mining machines. The WR810 Fuel and Lube truck can be configured for servicing fleets of either Tier 3 or Tier 4F machines.
