Dale Elphinstone inducted into the Mining Hall of Fame

Dale Elphinstone became the first person outside the US to be inducted into the prestigious National Mining Hall of Fame in Denver, Colorado, on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

Dale and wife Cheryl were joined by children, Kelly and Adam, and family friends to celebrate this amazing achievement.

Dale has never been afraid of a challenge.  He often says, “We did it because we didn’t know we couldn’t”.

Since 1975, when he modified Cat surface mining equipment to suit underground applications out of his Father’s shed on their Mooreville Road, Burnie farm, the Elphinstone name has been synonymous with underground mining.

50th Elphinstone UG20K Underground Grader built in Burnie Tasmania

Elphinstone Pty Ltd is excited to commemorate the 50th Elphinstone UG20K Underground Grader built in Burnie Tasmania. The 50th UG20K grader, designed to maintain underground haul roads, is one of two (2) machines to be dispatched to DCR Minería y Construcción through Ferreyros in Peru. Elphinstone celebrated the occasion with employees, founders Dale and Cheryl Elphinstone and Non-Executive Director, Kelly Elphinstone.

E15 machine introduction days held at Westrac NSW and QLD

Elphinstone in conjunction with Westrac NSW and QLD invited regional customers to view the new E15 Agitator and E15 Flat Deck at Hastings Deering Dubbo and Mt Isa in August.

Jetcrete trials E15 Agitator 7m3 at Renison Mine, Tasmania

When Elphinstone introduced the new low-profile E15 series to the market in January, it was a welcome addition to the existing range of E10 (formerly WR810) underground support vehicles.

Models in the E15 range include the 7m3 agitator, the E15 delivery (with wireless remote crane), the E15 flat deck, the E15 water tank for dust suppression, and the E15 fuel and lube service truck, with various other configurations presently in development.

Headlining series, the new E15 Agitator 7m3 is built to thrive in harsh underground hard rock mining conditions. Specialising in the transport of shotcrete or concrete for backfilling voids, the Agitator features outstanding ride and handling at full capacity improving cycle times and increasing productivity. Capable of onboard mixing during transit and loading via the chutes or conveyor.

Elphinstone WR810 model number changed to E10

WR810 model numbers will be updated to E10 in 2024

The Elphinstone WR810 series of underground support vehicles are recognised as a modular and highly configurable, 10-tonne nominal base platform featuring a superior level of interchangeability of parts and components between machines.

The WR810 model number will be phased out starting January 2024 and replaced with the E10 model number. This will apply to all future WR810 machines.
