Elphinstone’s first fit for purpose K Series, the UG20K Motor Grader has started its journey to Argentina. The engineering and manufacturing arm at Wilson and Ormsby street worked feverishly around the clock to meet the tight shipping deadline. Another impressive team effort.

The first Elphinstone WR820 Underground Articulated Agitator Truck fitted with 10m3 bowl, officially left Building W on Thursday August 23. Congratulations to everyone who worked on the build, it looks amazing and it is a credit to you all… it’s been a huge effort!

We are pleased to announce the return of the Elphinstone name to the Global Underground Mining Industry. A recent agreement between Elphinstone and Caterpillar has paved the way for Elphinstone to re-establish their world-renowned brand and commence manufacture of specialised underground mining support vehicles from their original home base of Burnie, Tasmania.

While a return to underground mining had been contemplated by Elphinstone, the move was hastened by Caterpillar’s 2015 announcement they would complete the relocation of their Burnie based manufacturing operations to Rayong, Thailand by first quarter end, 2016.
