We have an opportunity for an individual to join our team as an IT Infrastructure Specialist to provide software and network support to departments and end users & ensure IT infrastructure is supported and maintained to run reliably, efficiently and cost effectively.
About the Role
Elphinstone Pty Ltd is searching for an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our small in-house team. As the successful candidate, you will provide technical expertise to support the day-to-day business operations and various IT transformation projects. You will report to the IT Manager and be responsible for:
- Installing and administering essential IT infrastructure such as phones, computers, servers, storage, LAN, WAN communications, backups, IT security, and Microsoft 365 Administration.
- Monitoring system performance to ensure uptime goals and requirements are met.
- Maintaining Elphinstone's IT helpdesk by promptly responding to logged service issues and requests.
- Updating internal IT documentation and user guides.
- Monitoring and managing the end user base to facilitate on-boarding, exits, and positional changes.
- Documenting and maintaining IT inventory using the Lansweeper tool, including all leased assets.
- Monitoring and installing system and application patches and advising the IT Manager on any critical issues that arise.
- Managing the return of leased assets at the end of their lease term.
- Assisting in the preparation of policies and procedures.
- Working with business stakeholders within Elphinstone to address business needs.
- Communicating with external vendors to order and quote new software and hardware.
About You
You should possess at least 5 years of experience in IT Systems Administration with expertise in the following areas:
- Microsoft 365 Administration, including Exchange Online and Group Policy Management.
- Active Directory Management and Azure Active Directory Management.
- Hyper-V Management.
- Veeam Backup Administration.
- Server Management, including SQL Server Administration.
- LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Fortinet device management.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Tertiary qualification in IT or industry-based certification (may be advantageous)

About the Role
The role will initially be based at our Wivenhoe site and will report to our Fabrication Team Leader. The role will have access to various rostering profiles including a 4:3 and 9-day fortnights.
Key tasks will include:
- Offline programming CNC machines
- Online programming verification for CNC machine
- Machine setup and operation
- Adjust machine tool paths and settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
- Read and interpret drawings and technical information

The role of a Production Assembler is to arrange groups of wires into a single unit with various terminals and connectors attached. These harnesses are essential to conveying electrical messages within machinery.
On-the-job training will be provided which will include learning how to read schematics (plans) and building accordingly.
Key tasks will include:
- Manufacture harnesses and other electrical components to a quality standard that exceeds customer expectations.

About the roles
The roles will report to the appropriate Dept Manager and will be working across the entire Elphinstone product range.
The responsibilities and key tasks will include:
- Engineering design, drafting, documentation of new and existing product details using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD as required under the direction of a Lead Project Engineer.
- Research, design, evaluate and analyse products, equipment, systems and processes to meet functional requirements via applying knowledge of engineering principles.
- Manage aspects of product design projects when assigned.
- Complete engineering work to the required standards of accuracy and methodology as defined by Elphinstone protocols and client requirements as applicable. The design and development process should adhere to the Elphinstone product development procedure, Elphinstone design guidelines, Elphinstone HES specifications, recognised industry standards, design guides and practice notes and appropriate statutory regulations and codes of practice.
- Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, codes, and other artefacts as required.
- Recommend any engineering improvements to new and existing products when identified.
- Work in conjunction with the design, manufacturing, product support and sales teams to incorporate changes, updates and suggestions to machines and manufacturing processes to improve both product and process safety, performance, reliability, quality and cost as applicable.

Lead Electrical & Control System Engineer - Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV)

Elphinstone is seeking to employ a Lead Electrical & Control System Engineer to work with its passionate and expanding team of professionals to transition the WR810 underground service vehicle into a Zero-Emission, Full Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).
About the role
The role will report to the BEV project manager and will be working with high voltage (HV) systems defined in the vehicle sector as up to 850V.
As the Lead Electrical & Control System Engineer your responsibilities and key tasks will include:
- Help develop our electric vehicle platform by being a key member of a committed team
- Help develop a set of requirements and guidelines for the electrical system design
- Develop Electrical schematics
- System level design for electronics and electrical systems to ensure integration across disciplines
- Develop vehicle documentation such as, vehicle specifications, Operator & Maintenance manuals, safety instructions, Assembly instructions, gate review material, resource plans
- Closely support the electrical system through the development lifecycle including in production and quality departments
- Supervision & task planning of project electrical team
- Design and development of electrical architecture
- CANBUS network planning and implementation
- Model based software development
- CAN analysis using Kvaser/Vector tools
- Keep up to date with industry developments in area of responsibility
- Oversee the integration of electrical systems into the vehicle
- Ensure the proper release of electrical and electronic parts in time and within specifications
- Ensure proper design validation through static and dynamic testing
- Ensure the technical operation of electrical and electronic engineering work within overall programme requirements
- Reporting project and technical progress to stakeholders
- 24V Low voltage system integration
- Specification of the onboard and off-board charging systems
- Ownership, root cause analysis and resolution of issues
About You
The Lead Electrical & Control System Engineer will possess the following personal attributes:
- Presents professionally whilst demonstrating integrity, teamwork and ownership
- Show a passion for electric vehicles and being involved in cutting edge technology
- A can-do attitude, ability to lead a team to deliver vehicle projects
- Degree of Electrical Engineering or similar
- Knowledge of high voltage electrical systems and hardware in the EV space
- Experience in delivering electrical projects or working in electrical vehicle space
- Direct experience in electrical and electronic production, specification, development and validation
- Knowledge and experience of FMEA’s
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally when required
If possible, the Lead Electrical & Control System Engineer will have skills and experience in the following areas:
- Experience in the power electronics and automotive/mobile machinery industry
- Knowledge of industry standards related to high voltage electrical safety
- Experience in the mining industry
- Hands on experience in building looms, electrical systems
- Experience in production manufacturing of vehicles or machines
- Previous experience developing MathWorks Simulink Control systems
- Previous experience utilising CODESYS
