Elphinstone are very pleased to be delivering a WR810 Underground Water Cannon to WesTrac in Western Australia which will be introduced to the Goldfields.

The Elphinstone WR810 Water Cannon is a dual application machine. A wireless controller and base station allows the operator to position the 8m telescopic boom for washing down valuable ore fines or high-pressure blasting of material blockages from a safe remote location. The side and rear water sprays are for dust suppression of haul roads and are controlled from the operators cabin.

This machine features some impressive options including a proven Caterpillar power train, all-wheel drive, hydraulic front suspension, oscillating hitch, heavy-duty axles, automatic lubrication, mine water supply connection, automatic boom pack up and much more. The fire suppression system is cleverly hidden away and protected inside the rear tank.

The Elphinstone product development division is proactive in listening to the ‘Voice of Customer’ (VOC) to ensure our products meet their requirements. Elphinstone recently delivered a fully customised, feature-packed WR820 10m3 Agitator to a valued customer in Victoria through William Adams Pty Ltd. The WR820 10m3 Agitator maximises productivity via volume, speed and braking performance to deliver bulk concrete underground. The agitator bowl has a rated capacity of 10m3, and mixes either wet or dry product with variable speed control.
Front suspension, air-ride seat, ergonomic controls and excellent visibility from the air-conditioned ROPS/FOPS cabin provide the operator confidence to operate the machine at speeds equalling the production fleet. An inbuilt brake retarder and optional engine exhaust brake provide superior braking performance when hauling downhill.

First of Four Haulmax 3900 dispatched for Suriname

Elphinstone’s focus has always been to deliver customers a total haulage solution based on their specific haul requirements.

Prior to 2016, Surmac, an authorised dealer of Elphinstone machines in Suriname, identified a need for an extended distance haul solution for a valued customer. In September 2018, Elphinstone received an order for ten Haulmax 3900 trucks that were manufactured and commenced operation in 2019. The best voice of customer feedback is a repeat order and Elphinstone is excited to be delivering the first of four additional Haulmax 3900 dump trucks to the same valued customer in Suriname.

The versatile Haulmax 3900 can be configured as a dump truck, service truck, water truck or tow tractor for a lowboy trailer. With greater tyre and braking capacity, the Haulmax 3900 is designed for extended haul distances. Featuring a proven Caterpillar powertrain with a C27 engine, the Haulmax provides excellent performance, reliability and productivity for long life and a low total cost of ownership (TCO). Elphinstone Pty Ltd and the BusTech Group rolled out the 100th bus for Metro Tasmania last week. The partnership spanning 3 years has created local employment opportunities and future economic benefits for Tasmania.

Boosting the local economy

The celebration was attended by the Deputy Premier and Minister for Advanced Manufacturing and Defence Industries, Jeremy Rockliff. While congratulating the stakeholders for the impressive home-grown achievement, Minister Rockliff announced a further $10 million investment in Tasmania’s advanced manufacturing and defence industries, delivered over a period of 4 years.

Elphinstone Haulmax 3900 Chassis

First Elphinstone Haulmax 3900 delivered in 2008

In 2007, Elphinstone invested in Haulmax extended haul trucks and relocated the business from Brisbane to Tasmania. On December 11 2008, the first Haulmax 3900 truck was shipped to a valued customer in Western Australia and fitted with a Narwhal fuel and lube rig.
In 2014, Elphinstone purchased the remaining shares of Haulmax Pty Ltd to become 100% owners.
In 2021, the Haulmax 3900 continues to impress with expanding fleets worldwide. Elphinstone’s most recent Haulmax order will be the 30th truck fitted with SVA (Service Vehicle Australia) service modules and delivered into Western Australia. The machine is the 18th unit purchased by the customer, and the 61st Haulmax delivered within Australia. The customers’ first unit, commissioned into service on November 22 2012, is now approaching 50,000hrs and still going strong.

Engineered to maximise productivity via volume, speed and braking performance, the agitator will be used for bulk transport of concrete underground to backfill voids, continuous pours and construction. The bowl has a rated capacity of 10m3 and allows mixing of wet or dry product with variable speed control. Front suspension, air-ride seat, ergonomic controls and excellent visibility from the air-conditioned ROPS/FOPS cabin provide the operator confidence to operate the machine at higher cycle times and speeds equalling the production fleet. The Mining Legends Project, a zero-hours rebuild of an R2900G loader, was a private-sector initiative that provided significant proceeds to several critical organisations and charities around Australia. Elphinstone Electrical Harnesses

Elphinstone manufactures electrical harnesses for mining equipment and specialised applications

Elphinstone Pty Ltd is a manufacturer of wire harnesses for mining equipment and other specialised products and applications. The wire is cut, terminated and identified using a Komax Z633 Wire processing unit capable of processing 36 different wires simultaneously with wire sizes ranging from 0.22mm² up to 6mm². Depending on the application, wire harnesses can be sleeved in conduit, spiral wrap, cloth tape or varflo sleeve which conforms to MIL-I-23053 and braided via our range of Herzog harness braiders. All harnesses are thoroughly inspected and tested for correct circuit continuity before delivery to the customer. The process utilises Cablescan 90 S32 PC testing units capable of 0.1 ohms to 50 Kohms at 500 points per second. Elphinstone currently produces a volume of more than 15,000 units of 1500 different types of wire harnesses per year.
